EXCELLENT Based on 33 reviews Posted on Google Amy VossTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. As I sit here going through my notebook and binder from my time at Sun County, I felt compelled to leave a review. My journey with Sun County began in August of last year with a single phone call. I previously worked in admissions for treatment centers, so I understand how those calls often go. Many times you reach someone in a large office who doesn’t work directly at the facility and simply tells you whatever is needed to get you through the door. My experience with Sun County was completely different. When I called, Stephanie, one of the owners, answered the phone. She happened to be out at the time but still took the time to patiently answer every question I had. For the first time in nearly three years, I felt a real sense of hope. She also spoke with my father and a close friend who were helping me find treatment, and she was always patient and never pushy. I was nervous about traveling across the country and ended up pushing my admission date back more than once, but Stephanie never made me feel pressured or judged. From the moment I was picked up at the airport and brought to sober living, I felt safe and cared for. Stephanie and Danelle worked closely with me to figure out my insurance and how I could make my stay possible. I initially planned to stay for 30–45 days but ended up staying six months. The only reason I left when I did was because I needed to get back home to care for my animals. During my time there it became very clear that both Stephanie and Danelle genuinely care about the women in their program. My therapist, Jen, was incredible. She had an amazing ability to truly understand me and helped me begin to feel like myself again. My case manager, Ashley, was also a huge support, our sessions often felt like additional therapy, and she truly cared about my progress and where I would go next. Group therapy with Shanice also had a big impact on me. Her writing prompts and unique approach helped bring out a side of myself I had never really explored before. I arrived at Sun County feeling completely broken. After losing my husband, I had lost my sense of identity and didn’t know who I was anymore. Over time, I rebuilt my self-worth and learned to love myself again, something I hadn’t felt in years. Leaving was incredibly difficult. Going through my notes tonight made me realize just how much I grew during my time there. Sun County, and the women who work there, truly gave me my life back. I made solid friendships living in Ashland that I will have for the rest of my life. I will always be grateful for that, and I would wholeheartedly recommend this center to any woman who needs help.Posted on Google Vicki MaloneTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I have definitely changed for the better.Posted on Google JenniferTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I am extremely satisfied with the level of care I’ve received at Sun County wellness. I am originally from Boston and was in a very scary and dangerous place after a very long and drawn out drawn out divorce. I was forced into homelessness that caused severe depression and trauma. I did some research and found a great residential center in Laguna Niguel that lead me to Sun County Wellness and this place has truly saved my life. All of the facilitators have been wonderful and I have truly enjoyed working with my therapist Jen. It feels nice to feel so supported and I would highly recommend this place to any woman in need of treatment whether it’s for mental health or substance use or both.Posted on Google Nicole CechiniTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Partial Hospitalization Program
The Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) is an intensive outpatient service designed for individuals requiring substantial mental health support without the need for continuous 24/7 monitoring. Operationally, PHP typically involves participants attending structured sessions several days per week for multiple hours each day. The program integrates several key components, including regularly scheduled individual therapy sessions, ongoing medication management with psychiatric evaluations and follow-ups, and participation in skills-based group therapy addressing areas such as emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness.
Intensive Outpatient Program
The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) provides a flexible outpatient treatment option for individuals seeking mental health support through a combination of individual and group therapy sessions. IOP typically involves participants attending scheduled sessions a few days per week for a set number of hours each day, offering a less time-intensive commitment compared to a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP). The core components of IOP include regular individual therapy appointments focused on personalized treatment goals and progress, as well as group therapy sessions designed to foster peer support, psychoeducation, and the collaborative development of coping strategies.
Outpatient Program
Outpatient (OP) services represent the least intensive level of structured mental health care, offering ongoing support for individuals in various formats. OP typically involves scheduled individual therapy sessions, which can occur weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly, depending on the individual’s needs and treatment plan. Group therapy sessions are also offered, providing a supportive environment for shared experiences and collective skill-building, with varying schedules and focuses. A primary logistical feature of OP is its flexibility, allowing individuals to integrate treatment into their existing daily routines and commitments. Furthermore, many OP providers now offer virtual therapy options, expanding accessibility through secure video conferencing platforms, allowing individuals to participate in sessions remotely.
